US city councillor Dwaine Caraway is on a mission to persuade people to pull up low-hanging, baggy trousers that give onlookers too much of a rear view.
More than 100 adults, children, students, ministers, law enforcement officers and representatives from local organisations attended a summit organised by the Dallas crusader against buttock cleavage-revealing trousers.
Local youth counsellor Calvin Glover even brought a contingent of saggy bottom teenagers along in a bid to make them pull their socks - and trousers - up.
Glover, a 29-year-old former sagger who still admits to an occasional offense, said kids today have taken the trend too far, exposing too much of their backsides.
'Come on, man,' he said disgustedly. 'I don't want to see your dirty boxers that you've had on for two or three days. I mean, really.'
In a recent interview with MTV, America's new President-elect Obama addressed the pressing issue of baggy trousers, saying that he didn't agree with laws banning sagging waistlines - but did feel that 'brothers should pull up their pants.'
