A government official in Finland has resigned after he admitted to groping a number of women's breasts at an event at the Swedish embassy in Helsinki. Stefan Johansson touched several women's breasts at a reception.
Afterwards, he said: "I am deeply regretful, since my judgment - as a result of inebriation and fatigue - led me to behave in a way that I myself cannot accept."
The state secretary to Finland's equality minister stepped down.
One guest, magazine editor Solveig Arle, said: "What happened at the embassy party was not the sort of surreptitious groping that is difficult to define. It was straight-to-the-point blatant groping.
"And then there's Johansson's job title. What does this say about equality in Finland if there's not even a basic understanding of what constitutes sexual harassment at the ministry in question?"
One of the women who was groped wrote to the equality minister Stefan Wallin about the incident.
